School Council
2012-2013

We help make sure that the children’s ideas get through to the people who make the decisions.
We have members ranging from year 2 to year 6, boys and girls.

We have accomplished these things over the past year: Our school newspaper... Murals that made our dull walls shine...We also made up excellent questions and were part of the interview proccess for our amazing new headteacher Mrs Crumpler!...Helped advise on what kind of equipment we wanted for our new adventure playground, which opened in the Summer term 2011...We helped organise and promote our Royal Wedding Street Party!... We helped our school achieve its stage 1 Rights Respecting School Status...

Our up and coming plans include: ...Deciding how to make our library a relaxing place to enjoy reading... creating new fundraising opportunities for our school.

School Council are trying to make our school the most exciting it can be. If you have any suggestions or comments, please let us know!

School Council-created policies

We think it is important to understand the key values and messages of our school, so that we feel safe to learn and play. To help us with this, we have created our versions specific school policies. We did this during school council meetings and took feedback from the whole school.

Please click on the name of the policy and it will open up for you to read

Anti-bullying policy

E-safety policy

Healthy Schools policy (this is currently being created and will be available to download soon)

School Council Pupil Surveys

We want our school to be the best it can be to help us learn and be happy. To help find out about what we think our school does well, and what could be done to make it even better, we are going to be conducting our own questionnaires. Our first one will be about friendship. The answers you give us during feedback to the questions we will ask will help us come up with new ways to make sure we all feel like we have friends to play with and talk to. We will put more information about the results of our questionnaire and our next steps once they have been done.

Sapphires recently found out more about the work that ChildLine do, after visits from them to our school. If you are worried about anything and want to talk to someone in confidence, ChildLine is a great place to turn to. You can talk to them online, through 1-2-1 messaging, email or by phone whenever you need to.

ChildLine says that whatever your worry, it's better out than in.

The website address for ChildLine is www.childline.org.uk (click on the link and it will take you there), and the phone number is 0800 11 11 (this is a free call).
