This term we are looking at Article 31 from the Unicef Rights of the Child: All children have a right to relax, play and to join in a wider range of cultural and artistic activities.
coming soon...
This term we are looking at Articles 28 and 29 from the Unicef Rights of the Child: we have the right to an education, and we have the right to develop our talents and abilities.
In Diamond Class are Reception, Year One and Year Two. Our class teacher is called Mrs Cozens. Our teaching assistants are Mrs Chalke, Mrs Cornelius and Mrs Harris. We are a class with different year groups, but our learning and lessons are planned to make sure we all learn. As our class charter says: we learn by exploring, but we still enjoy ourselves.
In literacy we have been reading the Funnybones book. We have made cardboard skeletons, masks and finger puppets. The Year Two children have used these to write their own stories about the skeletons.

Science
In science we have been looking at our body. In reception this means we have been learning about our senses and using these to discover all about the world around us.

History
In history we are finding out about famous people. Later this term we are going to find out all about Guy Fawkes and why we celebrate Bonfire Night.
Art
In art we are looking at the work of T.S. Lowry and making different stick men.
In Maths we are trying really hard to learn our number bonds.
In Reception we have been finding out about adding one to a number. In Year 1 we are learning these facts for numbers to ten. In Year 2 we have to know all the addition facts for numbers up to twenty, although some of us are now trying to learn all the addition sums up to 100.
We have two class bears, Barnaby and Bernie. We take them on holiday and take pictures so we can show everyone where we have been.
We have a great outside area, which the Reception children use to explore and play with lots of different activities and toys.
At the moment the dinosaurs are stuck in a swamp. We really enjoy helping them escape!
We love riding the bikes, but the stepping stones and scooter boards are great fun as well.
