Book Week at All Saints

At All Saints, we had an amazing book week because on Thursday 3rd March it was World Book Day. We all love reading books!

Author Visits

Two authors came and talked to us about how to be amazing writers. On Monday our first author visited called Olivia Tuffin. She writes pony books which are good books to read. She told us about her journey to becoming an author.  It took a year to publish one book!

On Wednesday when Ian Thomas came to visit our school he talked to us about his jobs writing as an author and being lucky enough to go diving across the world and what he finds on the way. We were also lucky too, because he brought us some book marks from the series of books - we were so happy.

The Book Fair

The Book Fair held all week sold books and stationery and lots of people used their money well buying some books. There were lots of lovely books to read and enjoy at home with your friends and family. I was so amazed how many people bought books and of course I bought a wonderful book and a Mine craft poster!

Dress up day                                                                                                                                             On Thursday we all dressed up as our favourite book characters, I really enjoyed it. I was Broccoli Boy by Frank Cottrell Boyce but everyone thought I was Hulk! It was a great day, then we all took a picture - it looked amazing, there were superheroes like Harry and Jake as Captain Underpants. I liked Daniel’s costume; it was Roderick from Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Book Quizzes                                                                                                                                          We had to guess the stories from clues every morning in our classes and then we had a big quiz in our class and the clues were really hard. The teams had funny names like Pink Fluffy Unicorns and Raving Ravens. The quiz was really hard but the winners were a team called Group Quiz.

Books at Bedtime

On Tuesday we enjoyed a great night at school listening to the staff read some stories and having some nice, warm hot chocolate and marshmallows with some biscuits. My favourite story was Giraffes can’t Dance.

Some of us are now busy publishing our own stories to send to Ian Thomas who has said he will read them all and send us some ideas back. We can’t wait!
