Book Week Success!

All Saints enjoyed a brilliant, bumper packed book week. Listed below are just a few of the events that took place:

Monday 9th March

Book Week at All Saints launches in assembly. Competitions launched:

  1. Daily class ‘Guess the Book*’
  2. ‘How many reading activities can you complete this week?*’ Sheet to bring home – prizes on Friday
  3. Writing Competition - Around the World with Wally*   www.literacytrust.org.uk/competitions
  4. Sapphires book quiz to take home*

Daily ‘Buddy’ (shared) reading started.

Tuesday 10th March

Book Character Dress up Day

Children came dressed as their favourite book character*! Leanne Cuff was voted 'The best dressed' and received a voucher to spend at the Scholastic book fair. 

Librarians visited each class to talk about what Dorset Libraries have to offer families and introduced new and exciting books to the children.

Books at Bedtime!  6-7pm

This was a wonderful evening where children join us in their PJs and onesies, accompanied by their bedtime bears or snugglies, and listened to magical bedtime stories and enjoyed hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Wednesday 11th March

Scholastic Book Fair – Opened Wednesday Morning until Monday evening 16th March

The Book Fair opened every day thanks to the brilliant support of some dedicated year 6s - Finlay, Annabelle and Imani from. Thanks to all your support £250 was raised for the school to purchase books.

Thursday 12th March

Class Book Quizzes* – Diamonds and Rubies

Sapphires quizzes 

‘Open the Book’ school worship led by members of our Church community

Friday 13th March

The winners of all the quizzes and activities were annouched in Assembly, each being awared £5 book token to spend at the Book Fair.
