All Saints wowed their audiences on two nights with their fabulous production of Bugsy Malone! Children from Years 3-6 took on the challenge of a demanding script and musical numbers. They sang and danced their way through the musical items with choreography by Miss Scott. Beautiful solos were performed by Sophia Olford as Tallulah, Giorgia Bond as Fizzy, Sophie Smyth as Blousey Brown and Tristan McBryde as Cagey Joe. Fat Sam, played by Oscar Lewis roared his way through the play as his plight became more and more desperate. He provided some great comic touches. His gang acted suitably dumb and added to his exasperation. A particularly dapper Dandy Dan, played by Dominic Hosie was smart in his dress and in his actions. His gang was slick and mean and had great fun with the splurge guns! Yaz Payne played Bugsy to perfection, he had the hat, the suit and a wonderful American accent. He was word perfect and caused quite a flutter among Sam's dancing girls even though he only had eyes for Blousey. The children had a ball, especially in the final scene when the stage was very messy but luckily they all became friends!
Here's what the audience said...
'Ambitious and wonderfully brave. Well done everyone for going for it! It's a lotta fun.'
'Great show, amazing performers. Well done.'
'It was absolutely fantastic. I was really sad when it ended. What a talented bunch.'
It was lovely to see the performances grow during rehearsal. What a great way to live our vision of being ambitious for our children and supporting them to be the best they can be! Well done everybody.
