What's On This Week

27th October 2016

The following email was sent to parents on Friday 28th October:

Dear Parents / Carers,

Another fantastic week is over but I am sure you are all looking forward to the half term holidays! Here are some highlights from this week:

Level 2 Bikeability: 6 Children have successfully completed their Level 2 Bikeability which consisted of three hours of cycling tuition on the quieter roads of Bishops Caundle. The Bikeability tutor Ben Timberlake was extremely impressed with the ability and behaviour of all of the children but encouraged parents to continue cycling with them.

Diamond & Topaz Celebration Assembly: We had an excellent turn out of parents for this very special assembly. Thank you for your support. All the children presented their work beautifully. However, the reception class children were particularly impressive as it was the first time performing in front of a large audience.

Diamond Class Family Science Afternoon: On Monday 17th October, parents joined the Diamond Class for a science exploration. Once again this was very well supported and a wonderful opportunity for children to share their learning.

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at the Gryphon School: Today, Friday 21st October, three of our children (who have been learning a musical instrument for more than a year) were invited to take part in a very special musical workshop at The Gryphon School with 5 members of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Parents have been invited to attend a special concert at the end of the day which we just can’t wait to hear all about.

ASSA AGM Meeting: Many thanks to those of you who attended the ASSA AGM meeting on Tuesday. In addition, a huge thank you to last year’s team, especially Michelle Shaw as Chair, who did a fantastic job in organising activities and raising money for the school. An incredible £6000 was raised across the year through events and donations which is simply amazing for such a small school. The money raised has funded the rebuilding of our much loved swimming pool and helped to support the year 6s in the residential trip to Weymouth. Michelle is now standing down as Chair and is handing the mantel over to Rachel Sprake who is being ably supported by Michelle Mitchell as Vice Chair and Michelle Shaw as secretary. The next big event is the School’s Christmas Fayre which is on Friday 25th November at 3.30pm. Please ensure that you have this date in your diary. We will be having a special visit from Santa!

Please look on our School website www.bishopscaundle.dorset.sch.uk  for photos of these events.
