What's On This Week

News

21st November 2016

Dear Parents / Carers,

This week we are extremely proud of our children! Here is why…

Year 5 Tag Rugby Tournament: On Thursday our year 5s (and two year 4s) entered a Tag Rugby Competition which included all the Sherborne and surrounding villages primary schools.  The team played superbly and clearly won every single match which resulted in them winning the overall tournament. Teachers from the other schools were so impressed with their skill and knowledge of the game - we are delighted to see that the work of our sports coach Mr Noyce is really making an impact. The behaviour of the team was also exceptional. Well done.

Topaz & Diamond Class Visits to the Village Shop & Post Office: This week our younger children visited the Village shop and Post Office as part of their learning programme. They were tasked to buy a stamp for a surprise card they needed to post and a treat for themselves. The shop and post office workers were delighted to have received the children and they were very impressed with their behaviour and politeness.

Bags to School: Thank you so much for the donations of second hand clothes. The bags have been collected by the company and we are now awaiting our cheque! We will confirm the total amount of money raised in due course

New sibling arrival: A special welcome this week to baby Flynn a gorgeous brother for Theo in Diamonds Class!

Gentle Reminders….

Christmas Fayre Friday 25th November: Please come and join us for our Christmas Fayre on Friday 25th November. There will be lots of lovely trade stalls, tombola, raffle, Santa’s & Elves Grotto, refreshments and lots more.  Thank you to those who have already brought in donations of gifts for tombola & raffle. However, we are looking forward to receiving more next week – especially cakes!! Many thanks in advance

Library Books: We are aware that there are a number of books missing from our library. We are therefore launching a Book Amnesty next week and we urge you all to double check your shelves and bedrooms at home and return any books that belong to school. There will be a basket in the library for child to discretely place any returns.

Safety Reminder: Please can we kindly ask that children are supervised coming into school and before entering the children’s cloakroom in the morning. Children should walk into school, keeping to the pavements and wait with their parents for the door to open. Children riding a bike (accompanied by a parent/carer) should dismount at the school gate and walk their bicycle to the side of school (next to the office) for everyone’s safety. There have been a few incidents this week when I have felt safety has been compromised. Thank you so much for your help with this.

Enjoy the weekend

Many thanks & kind regards,

All Saints
