What's On This Week

News

20th February 2017

Dear Parents,

We very much hope you are enjoying your half term holiday.  We have been very busy at school with the Ruby classroom and the Reception area being decorated and lots of exciting enhancements to the Early Years shelter. However, here follows the highlights of last week:

Safer Internet Day: On Tuesday 7th February we celebrated a global Safer Internet Day with the theme ‘Be the Change: unite for a better Internet’. The aim of the day was to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for our children and to raise awareness of online safety issues.  All Saints’ E Safety Champions - Oscar Lewis and Aurora Beasley organised a fun filled day of information and activities under the expert mentoring of Mrs Regan.  In the morning they held an informative assembly (which included the performance of an internet safety rap!) and started off a day of class based activities.

Year 5/6 Basketball Tournament: On Wednesday 8th February the All Saints’ Basketball Team played in the Sherborne Area Primary Schools tournament at The Gryphon School. All played really well and represented the school beautifully. The team made it through to the cup competition and were awarded 4th place overall.

Bugsy Malone singing: On Thursday 9th February, Alistair Dane from the Dane Academy joined Years 3,4 and 5 to continue practising some songs from Bugsy Malone in preparation for a Sherborne Primary Schools’ Performance which will be taking place at The Gryphon School, 4pm on 6th April.

Barnado’s Hat Day: On Friday 10th February, All Saints School was awash with hats in support of this very important charity.  In total £75 was raised. Thank you everyone.

Valentine Afterschool Café: On Friday afternoon the school library was transformed into a love themed café thanks to our amazing PTA parents.  Thank you to everybody who donated delicious cakes and biscuits for this event and to those who joined us. £45 was raised for our swimming pool fund and please try to come to the next Easter themed café on Friday 7th April. It is really lovely to have a catch up together!

Please refer to our school website for more information about these events.

We would like to welcome Serenity Beasley to the world who was born just three weeks ago. Aurora, in Year 5, is a very proud big sister and the staff enjoyed some precious cuddles with Serenity when she visited the under 5’s playgroup on Friday.

We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Eveleigh as the school’s new caretaker. Mr Eveleigh takes over from Mr Parker who flies off to sunnier climates next week. Mr Eveleigh is a parent at the school and his daughter Toya-Rose is especially delighted that she will be seeing her dad at the school each day!

Finally, please enjoy the rest of  the week and we look forward to seeing you again on Monday 20th February.

Kind regards,

All Saints
