This term (Spring 1) we have begun learning about rocks and soils. We worked in groups to sort rocks according to their characteristics and properties using Venn and Carroll diagrams.
We undertook an experiment to examine the permeability of different rocks. We had to observe very carefully.
Some of the rocks allowed water to go through them (they were permeable), some absorbed the water. The water stayed on the top of some of the rocks - they were impermeable.
We have been learning about teeth and skeletons this term. We also researched the famous scientist Marie Curie. We ended the term by observing x-rays in detail and tried to replicate them using art straws and black paper!
