Animation

Learning & Support

As part of our Terrific Toys topic, we have been learning about changes in the past relating to technology (specifically types of animation).

Animation is a series of still pictures, moving so quickly that our eyes can't keep up and it tricks our brain into thinking that the picture is moving!

First we looked at flipbooks and had a go at making our own.  Then we investigated the class zoetrope and learned that you need at least 12 pictures per second (frames) to make the movement look really realistic.  Finally we looked at modern day computer animation and had a go at animating a stick figure using some animation software.  We hope you like their dances!
