Icy phonics!

Learning & Support

We are always working on ways to make those connections within the brain much stronger, and ensuring that our children get a rich, multisensory experience in their Phonics learning is key to this.

Here we are on 31st January (a very icy morning) using chopsticks to write in ice! On this day we were looking at the digraph "oo", which can make a long sound (e.g. in the word zoo) or a short sound (e.g. in the word book). Some of the Year 1s also took some time to rehearse writing the trigraphs "ear" and "air".
