What's on this Week

News

14th November 2016

Dear Parents / Carers,

Wow, this week has flown by! Once again it has been packed full of learning and activities including:

Year 5 &6 Football Match: The match on Wednesday was played in the rain at Buckland Newton School! The team played really well and scored the only goal of the match. All were very muddy but very happy with this result!

Topaz & Diamond Class Village Walk: Today our gorgeous children in years Reception, 1 & 2 enjoyed a two hour investigative walk around the village. They visited and studied the Garage, Park, Church and the Pub! Lots of fabulous class learning has already taken place following this activity and more is planned next week with visits to the Village Shop & Post Office. Many thanks once again to our parent helpers whose help is very much valued.

Gentle Reminders….

Christmas Fayre Friday 25th November: Last week we sent out a flyer requesting help and donations with this important fund raising event. We rely on everyone to ensure that this a real success but as yet we have received only one donation.

Chartwells Christmas Hot School Meal: Every year Chartwells provide a hot Christmas meal for the children to enjoy. This year the meal is taking place on Tuesday 13th December.  All KS1 children are entitled to free hot school meals and KS2 children can purchase one for £2.15. We like to encourage all children and staff to take advantage of this special meal, so if you do not normally order hot school meals for your child, please consider ordering just for this day. Information about the on-line booking process can be found on our school website.

Bags to School: In your child’s book bag today you will find a plastic ‘Bag 2 School’. Bag 2 school is a company that specialise in good quality second hand clothing that can be re-used and they have arranged to make a collection from our school next Wednesday 16th November. All bags are weighed and school is paid according to weight collected. This is a fantastic fund raising activity for the school.  Please fill the bag with your unwanted clothes, bring to school office on Wednesday and help raise money to enhance the resources for the children. (More bags are available from the office.)

Enjoy the weekend

Many thanks & kind regards,
