What's On This Week

News

30th January 2017

Dear Parents / Carers,

Al Saints have enjoyed another fantastic week. Here are some of the highlights:

Sparkle Time with Diamond & Topaz Children: It was wonderful to see a group of our Diamond and Topaz Children enjoying an investigative village walk today. They were focusing on road safety, looking at different road signs and thinking about what they mean. Please test their incredible knowledge whilst you are out and about with them this weekend!

Cooking with Sapphire Class: Amazing smells were emanating from our kitchen today as year 5 & 6s learnt all about different pastry techniques. This learning was linked with our French project and they produced Salted Caramel Eclairs with choux pastry and Sweet Caramel Tarts with short crust pastry… Yummy!

Football Match: On Wednesday a group of Years 4, 5 and 6 visited Sherborne Primary to play football.  They enjoyed a good match but Sherborne Primary won. We were so proud of our team who held their heads high during this defeat. Well done to all!

Messy Church: We were so disappointed with the very poor response to our Messy Church event on Thursday 26th January. Our fabulous church community work so hard in developing exciting and engaging activities for all the family. We would be really interested in finding out why only one family positively responded to this event. Your feedback would be appreciated. Please email the school on office@bishopscaundle.dorset.sch.uk.

Gentle Reminders….

Yr 6 Be the Boss Business and Enterprise Day: We need to send the returned consents and medical forms for this event to The Gryphon on Monday and as yet we have only received one response. Please ensure that the appropriate forms are completed and returned to us this Monday at the very latest (copies can be found on the school website in ‘Parent Letters’ then under ‘Trips’).

Blackmore Vale Lions Half Marathon – Helped required: On Sunday 5th February the Blackmore Vale Lions Half Marathon takes place which starts from Bishops Caundle. We have agreed that the school can be used for parking and we are looking for volunteers to help with this offering. The Lions are always very grateful for our help and normally make a donation to the school. If you can spare a couple of hours that morning please let us know. We would really appreciate your help. Many thanks in advance.

Many thanks & kind regards,

All Saints
