Art & DT Showcase

We are looking at formal sketching skills in Art this term.
We created artworks inspired by Max Ernst's 'frottage' art style.  First we collected a variety of textures by making wax rubbings, then we tore shapes from them to stick and create an image of a flower.
Using our sketching and shading skills, we have been drawing botanical illustrations, in the style of scientists such as Charles Darwin.
Using the skills we have worked on so far this term, we have been having a go at creating our own abstract flower art, based on the work of Georgia O'Keefe.

First, we picked out small sections of larger flower art works and photos, then sketched them on larger pieces of paper.   We are now working on shading and colouring them to create final artworks ready for the school art show in the summer term.
