Today we had a visit from the police to talk to us about road safety. We learnt the Green Cross Code:
Stop
Look
Listen
Think - is it safe?
We talked about traffic lights:
Green = go
Amber = stop
Red = stop
We talked about Pelican crossings:
Red man = wait
Green = check it's safe before crossing
We also though about how to make sure we are safe when walking by a road. We know we should look where we are going, have an adult walk on the side with the road and hold hands when possible.
Being seen in the dark is also important so we talked about high viz jackets, slap bands, hats and reflector strips to help us be easy to spot.
